Organized on March 31, 1933, the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.) was a New Deal program that provided work, wages, and room and board to young men during the Great Depression. The projects focused on road construction, flood control, reforestation, soil erosion prevention, and improving features at local, state and national parks.
