Documentation for Dual Citizenship Applications
Answer
Often researchers request naturalization records with certification for dual citizen applications. Unfortunately, because we are not the creator of the records, we cannot certify or notarize the documents we hold in our collections. Likewise, we cannot provide certified or notarized documents regarding the existence of those records.
Please contact the probate court of the county of naturalization for naturalization records before 1906 or the National Archives at Chicago for ones after that. If you are unable to procure the necessary certified documentation, please consult your legal counsel about how to proceed.
